Scientific Excellence

Strong foundation for applied research

More than 120 scientists from various disciplines conduct research at Fraunhofer AISEC and provide important findings for successful project work with partner companies and organizations.

In this way we develop innovative security solutions that form the basis for a higher level of security that goes beyond the current state of the art.

All results are introduced directly into the researchers' daily operational work and enable them to make hardware more robust, software more secure and systems and services more reliable.

Fraunhofer AISEC's security researchers present their results at various top conferences, always generating a great response in the scientific cybersecurity community.

Cybersecurity spotlights

Delve deep into the innovative research areas covered by Fraunhofer AISEC.

Trusted Electronics

Trusted electronics perform their intended functions reliably and precisely and their origin and configuration are traceable. Researching and developing tangible solutions, technologies and tools is the key to reliable electronics.

Post-quantum cryptography

Quantum computers pose a threat to IT security as a whole, since they may effectively break established encryption processes. The Competence Center for Post-Quantum Cryptography provides support in the switch to quantum computer-resistant cryptographic processes.

Deepfakes

“Deepfakes” are deceptively real but manipulated video and audio recordings that can be created only with the help of artificial intelligence. Fraunhofer AISEC understands the risks and challenges associated with deepfakes — and is developing a toolkit to reliably expose them.
