Self-conception

Fraunhofer AISEC supports companies from all industries and service sectors in securing their systems, infrastructures, products and offerings. On behalf of our customers, we develop high-quality security technologies to increase the reliability, trustworthiness and tamper-resistance of IT-based systems and products.

In the area of tension between economic requirements, usability and security requirements, more than 150 scientific and technical employees of Fraunhofer AISEC develop optimally tailored concepts and solutions. 

Our security test laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art devices and our highly qualified security experts evaluate and analyze the security of products, hardware components as well as software products and applications on behalf of our customers.

In our laboratories we perform functional, interoperability, conformance and compliance tests and provide our customers with targeted advice. Our customers are manufacturers, suppliers, and users in the fields of smart card systems, telecommunications, the automotive industry and its suppliers, logistics and aviation, mechanical engineering and automation technology, healthcare, the software industry as well as the public sector and eGovernment. 

Strategic partnerships with globally operating industrial companies as well as with international universities, in particular the University of Excellence TU Munich, guarantee scientific excellence of our work as well as its market-oriented implementation.

Prof. Dr. Claudia Eckert

Prof. Dr. Claudia Eckert is executive director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security AISEC in Garching and professor at the Technical University of Munich, where she holds the Chair for IT Security at the School of Computation, Information and Technology.

Her research interests include the development of technologies to enhance the system and application security, the security of embedded systems, and the investigation of new techniques to increase the resilience and robustness of systems against attacks. The results of her research have been published in over 160 peer-reviewed technical papers. 

Since 1st January 2018, she has been the spokesperson for the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Cognitive Internet Technologies CCIT, which unites the expertise of different Fraunhofer institutes to develop and implement new cognitive solutions from sensors to edge devices to cloud platforms for industrial digitalization.

As a member of various national and international industrial advisory boards and scientific committees, she advises companies, trade associations and the public sector on all issues relating to IT security. In expert committees, she is involved in shaping the technical and scientific framework conditions in Germany and in the design of scientific funding programs at the EU level.

Prof. Dr. Georg Sigl

Prof. Dr. Georg Sigl is director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security AISEC in Garching and professor at the Technical University of Munich in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering where he holds the Chair of Security in Information Technology.
